Kentwell Tickets (old)

Having worked my longest day ever from 6am yesterday to 4 am today. Up again at 7 am until now, I have decided to switch the lights off so we can all have an early night. Three more ewes lambed today. Looks to be a quiet night. Now only 5 ewes left to lamb. 45 in two weeks. Well done to our ram!!!

Two x twins, one x triplets and what now? This has been a long haul! Still not finished. My friendly ewe no 288 is on the way, one down and, who knows, might be another triplets. She is huge! The one that did have triplets surprised me. I thought she would have twins, but not triplets. They very large for triplets. I think mum will need lots of e extra food to keep them in milk.

This is Little and Large. Two Grey Faced Dartmore cross lambs. Their mums have been with us for 8 years and have only produced one lamb between them before. Both singles but hugely different in size. Large is only 2 days old , Little is 5 days old.

Cannot believe how this week has been. We had our first lamb I view of our visitors on Sunday 1st April. Since then almost non stop delivery unit. 28 ewes have given birth. Not all without problems. We have named one enormous ram lamb Patrick after Mr P !

Most, but not all, the ewes and lambs are now out in the field enjoying the spring weather. They devoured the young grass on the front lawn in no time at all. Today we have brought up the second group of ewes ( another 50) to settle for lambing. They are in the paddock next to the lambing yard. The yard has been mucked out and pressure hosed down and is now ready for when they start.

We are content to lie and wait.

Believe or not there may be up to 12 babies under me. You will find out when I am finished hatching.

Forgot to post this Mon morning. Arrived 8 am followed by brother at 9.30am. No help required, only encouragement.
