2011 Open Air Entertainments

40 Years On sees Patrick Phillips's 40 years at Kentwell which this year also marks our 30th year of Open Air Entertainments. We were doing it when few other venues were.

Once again this year we have an excellent selection of Events. GB Theatre Company who were so well received last year return with Twelfth Night (thought by many to be Shakespeare's best comedy) and Romeo & Juliet (his unrivalled tragedy - bring your hanky). The Gilbert & Sullivan is the seldom seen Patience. Some think the satire dated but I don't. It has just as much application to 'luvvies' still today.  The Glenn Miller 1940s Night moves to a Saturday this year for which we welcome once again The Glenn Miller Tribute Orchestra who do play just Miller music.  Finally we finish with our Last Night of the Proms, once again with the London Gala Orchestra.  The programme will feature Vivaldi's Four Seasons (yes, all of them) and conclude with Handel's Musick for the Royal Fireworks with a fireworks finale. The Orchestra will play on the Courtyard and we shall have a few tables for hire there for those who would like to be close to the action as well as space for promenaders.
