We awoke on Monday morning the 18th to a howling wind and to see ancient trees falling (9 in the Avenue drive alone) and our Unfairground flattened. Almost immediately we lost electricity and that meant as well no telephone, no computers and no water. That was scary !
We managed to hire generators and with great effort from our team and volunteers got trees cleared, the Unfairground re-established and opened for that night's business. We coped well if not perfectly and fulfilled our proud claim that we continue whatever the weather.
What with much rain and then this storm, it has proved a testing Scaresville. Though heavy cloud cover is excellent scaring weather !
