See the Lambing & Spring Bulbs page for our opening times.

Camera is situated in the Tudor Stables about 100 yards from the House. This is a courtyard with buildings on all sides. This is where we bring our Norfolk Horn Ewes for lambing, an area usually reserved for horses and donkeys.

Ewes about to lamb or which have just lambed, we move into pens at the back. When we are satisfied that the lambs have suckled and are strong enough, we move them into a barn on one side.

At one time Norfolk Horn sheep (horned in both sexes) were the rarest sheep in England - reduced to a handful. We were one of four breeders about 30 years ago that saved the breed which has gone from strength to strength since but the breed remains 'Rare'. Unlike commercial breeds where breeders hope to end with a surviving lambing average of 2 or more per ewe, we are lucky to achieve much above one per ewe.
